Soccer Star and SPAR Ambassador Seamus Coleman launches new SPAR Better Choices summer recipes
Republic of Ireland football captain Seamus Coleman returns in his role as a SPAR ambassador for Better Choices, a healthy eating initiative aimed at encouraging healthier choices on-the-go, and at home, with SPAR. Today, Seamus launches SPAR’s new Better Choices summer menu, which provides delicious recipes for cooking healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners at home, all made with ingredients available in your local SPAR store.
The core of the SPAR Better Choices initiative is about having the power to make the right choices in order to stay healthy. Being a footballer and family man, Seamus knows the importance of making better choices when it comes to his food, and now he is hoping to inspire people to make healthier choices for their mealtimes and snacks, either when they are eating on-the-go, looking to create a meal or whizzing up a snack at home.
The new recipes have been carefully crafted to ensure a balanced mix of vitamins and minerals are present in each meal and snack. These tasty treats include ‘no bake’ breakfast bars, banana and berry ‘nice’ cream, whole wheat pitta pizzas and sizzling steak skewers with avocado salsa, along with a range of healthy snack ideas that will help keep you satisfied over the summer months.
Seamus Coleman, SPAR Better Choices campaign ambassador and Republic of Ireland footballer, said: “I’m delighted to be working with SPAR again this year to highlight the Better Choices initiative and launch these delicious new recipes, all made using fresh, convenient and affordable products from your local SPAR. This initiative shows how easy it is to prepare healthy meals at home for everyone in the family, and I hope it will help people make better decisions when it comes to shopping for food.”
Speaking about the initiative, Colin Donnelly, SPAR Sales Director, commented: “We are delighted to have healthy-living advocate Seamus Coleman on board again this year as our SPAR Better Choices initiative ambassador. At SPAR, we are committed to providing our customers with the best, and we feel passionate that eating well should be a priority, whether you are on the go or eating at home. With the creation of the new SPAR Better Choices recipes and our great range of fresh and nutritious products, customers can expect to find the right choice for them under the tree at SPAR.”
The SPAR Better Choices initiative sees SPAR redefine its offering to customers in response to changes in Irish consumers’ lifestyle choices. Healthy food and snack options are now no longer limited and SPAR Better Choices ensures that eating in, and out of home, doesn’t mean compromising on health and well-being. The initiative also caters to customers with varying nutritional needs with low fat, high protein, and gluten free products on offer.
