SPAR stores proved hugely successful at the national ShelfLife C-Store Awards 2012 held in Dublin recently. The ShelfLife Awards, now in their 12th year, were established to acknowledge stores and individuals that set the standards for the industry. Tobin’s SPAR Letterkenny, SPAR Express Junction 14 in Mayfield County Kildare, Rushe’s SPAR Stillorgan, Mullen’s SPAR Express on Bundoran Road in Co. Sligo, SPAR Parkwest and SPAR Castleforbes received awards in various categories including Best New Department category and Forecourt Retailer category.
Tobin’s Topaz/SPAR Donegal wins National Convenience Store of the Year
Tobin’s SPAR Express in Letterkenny has won the Supreme Award – National Convenience Store of the Year 2012. As well as taking the top honour, the Donegal store picked up the Gold Award in its category, beating competition from hundreds of local convenience store entrants across Ireland.
Tobin’s SPAR Express provides employment for 32 people locally and is open seven days a week, from Mon – Sat 7.30am – 10.30pm, Sun 9am – 10.30pm.
SPAR Express Junction 14 is Named Ireland’s Forecourt Retailer of the Year
SPAR Express Junction 14, in Mayfield County Kildare, has won the award for Forecourt Retailer of the Year 2012. As well as taking the top honour, the Kildare store picked up the Gold Award in its category, beating competition from hundreds of local convenience store entrants across Ireland.
Owned and run by brothers and businessmen Donal and Liam Fitzpatrick, the store at the Junction 14 exit near Mayfield opened just over a year ago following an initial investment of €7 million, and recently marked a successful first year in business with the announcement of new jobs and further investment.
Rushe’s SPAR Stillorgan Wins National Retail Awards
Rushe’s SPAR store on Lower Kilmacud Road in Stillorgan, scooped three awards, picking up a bronze in the National Store Award category, bronze in the National Lottery Retail Store Award category, and Silver in the Best News Department category.
Rushe’s SPAR Stillorgan provides employment for 25 people locally and is open seven days a week, from 6.30am to Midnight.
Mullen’s SPAR Express Sligo Wins National Retail Awards
Mullen’s SPAR Express on Bundoran Road in Co. Sligo, collected two awards, picking up a bronze in the National Award category and Silver in the Forecourt Retailer category.
Mullen’s SPAR Express provides employment for 26 people locally and is open seven days a week, from Mon – Sat 7am – 11pm, Sun 8am -10pm.
SPAR Parkwest Dublin Wins National Retail Award
Bagnall’s SPAR Parkwest continued its winning streak, picking up Silver in the National Store Award category. The West Dublin store was part of a small group of retailers to be recognised from amongst hundreds of local convenience store entrants across Ireland.
SPAR Parkwest employs 16 staff locally and boasts a collection of 32 trade awards including 3 time winners of the Shelflife National Convenience Store of the Year Award. SPAR Parkwest is situated in the Parkwest Business Park and opening hours are Monday – Friday 7am- 8pm and closed at weekends.
SPAR Castleforbes Dublin Wins National Retail Award
Clarke’s SPAR Castleforbes Road in Dublin’s newly developed docklands has won the National Award for stores 2000-4000sq.ft. As well as taking the top honour, the Dublin store picked up the Gold Award in its category, beating competition from hundreds of local convenience store entrants across Ireland.
SPAR Castleforbes’ which employs 12 people, is open Monday – Friday 6am – 10pm, Saturday 7am – 10pm, and Sunday 8am – 10pm.
